Ways to Create & Donate with Sewing

What is Crafts Create Change?

Crafts Create Change is a a Volunteer Community non-profit that connects people globally to communities and causes to make an impact through volunteering. Everything within its mission embodies ways for people to cultivate volunteering and social good within their lives.

How You Can Help!

As an avid crafter and once upon a time fashion designer Alicia Sanchez, Founder of Dear God, Are We There Yet? volunteer travel community, always knew that one day she would want to have a sewing book but not just any crafts/sewing book.

There was a huge movement when the pandemic hit. People rallying around making masks but our nonprofit has taken that to another level and created a book of over 40 projects people can make at home for fun with their families!  Crafts that you can make and donate directly to causes like Foster Care, Domestic Violence, NICU, Elderly homes, Children on the Spectrum, Elderly with Alzheimer’s, Young Mothers, Farm Workers and the list goes on!

This book is a tool for positive change in your community and in the world. Alicia shows crafters and sewing enthusiasts how to identify opportunities for change around them and how to use their hands and creativity to make those changes happen.

These sewing and craft projects are easy enough for people of all ages and skill levels to complete. Alicia also provides additional online resources: such as step-by-step instructional videos for each project and a donation directory for finding where to donate the handicrafts you create. Crafts Create Change has over 40 different projects to choose from, including community projects.

Start making meaningful, functional crafts to create positive change today!

Here is the BEST part we don’t stop giving because 80% of the profits from this book will go directly to the “Dear God, Are We There Yet?” Impact Microgrants.

A Look Inside

Many do not know but millions couldn’t afford diapers before the pandemic. Without federal aid, diaper banks struggle to keep up with skyrocketing needs and fewer donations. Diaper needs is an often-overlooked measure of basic economic needs. Some children are allergic, some parents can’t afford it and many already choose the sustainable approach to support the environmental factors.

When the cloth diapers were added, they knew it had to be a beginner friendly pattern that can be duplicated easily but also a despair that can grow as the child grew.

As a mom Alicia knows first-hand that as children grow the diapers increase so imagine when it might get tough for families or even the Department of Children and Families tries their best to get donations for children being placed in foster care. Everything adds up and can make a difference.

Take a look inside to see more projects for children as well that helps them get involved with volunteering through crafting!

About Joan Mantini

After several years of being the Facebook page owner at Beginner Sewing, I noticed there was a desperate need to have a single go-to spot for members to be able to find answers to their common questions, get some useful tips & tricks, as well as find reputable places to purchase sewing products online. Taking my role as a trade publication editor by day, and combining it with my knowledge of frequently requested beginner sewing advice, I created www.https://beginner-sewing.com/. An outlet that gives new sewists a free digital magazine geared for entry level sewing as an extra bonus!
