I actually want to rename this petal gift bag a treat bag because that is the first thing I saw when I looked at it… a goodie bag full of treats! I picked this petal gift bag tutorial from Tamara’s Joy to share for a few reasons.

First, it is nearing the holiday season and many of the group member in my Beginner Sewing Facebook group are looking for easy items to make. This is a great one! Second, group members frequently ask for ideas to use up their scrap fabric – this checks that box as well!

Is there a free pattern you ask? No need! This petal gift bag tutorial can come in any size you’d like it to according to her video.

But the best part is, chances are you have everything you need laying around your home already to get this started!

This bag has so much character to it, yet it is so easy to sew. Checks off all of my beginner sewing tutorial boxes! No need for further lead in. Check out her video below and follow along to make your own petal gift bag.

About Joan Mantini

After several years of being the Facebook page owner at Beginner Sewing, I noticed there was a desperate need to have a single go-to spot for members to be able to find answers to their common questions, get some useful tips & tricks, as well as find reputable places to purchase sewing products online. Taking my role as a trade publication editor by day, and combining it with my knowledge of frequently requested beginner sewing advice, I created www.https://beginner-sewing.com/. An outlet that gives new sewists a free digital magazine geared for entry level sewing as an extra bonus!
