How to Sew a Drawstring Bunny Bag

One of our Beginner Sewing group members on Facebook shared their latest sewing project, and to say it caught my eye was an understatement. It was adorable. So, I decided to check it out a little further. This drawstring bunny bag has a video and I also found a printout (although I am quite certain you can figure this out without the ear printout) so I thought others might love it just as much with Spring being right around the corner. I am rating this as a very beginner-friendly sewing project that all sewers alike could enjoy! Enjoy this quick and easy sewing tutorial!

Bunny Bag Print Out

Think of all the fun ideas you can do to this bag.  If you feel like taking it one step further, applique a little face on your bag.  How about adding a little fluffy tail with a pom-pom on the back.? When my kids were younger, adding googly eyes to anything was always fun.

This project is a great way to use up some of your scrap fabrics being that it is small, however, have you been wanting to try out some fluffier faux furs? Having a smaller project such as this is a great way to get the feel for how it is to work with. And let’s be honest, making this little bunny bag in faux furs would be adorable.

Have fun making this bag and filling it up with some sweets.

Happy Sewing
