Make Something for Yourself!

Day 5 is all about getting to your sewing machine and making YOURSELF something small that coincides with your 2021 goals.

Beginner Sewing Challenge Day 5

Day five of the Beginner Sewing 5-day Challenge is all about YOU! This challenge is to take some of the things that you have learned these last five days and incorporate them into goals that you have set for yourself in 2021. Your mission for today is to comment on this post with:

  • Your 2021 goal and what you are sewing that can be incorporated into helping you with that goal.
  • A bonus for incorporating previous challenges from earlier this week.

The day 5 challenge is dedicated to YOU! Enjoy the time to think about something small that you can make. Having this item incorporated as part of your 2021 goals can be a reminder of your accomplishment in completing the project. Nothing is better than a sense of self-accomplishment!

Let Me Get You Started

Take a look at one of my 2021 goals and how I made a very simple, yet elegant project utilizing tricks from previous days of this challenge!

Day 1 – I incorporated a button!

Day 2 – Pinking sheers are a great tip for finishing edges to prevent fabric fray.

Day 3 – This was the first time I have embroidered on this type of fabric.

Day 4 – The fabric was leftover scraps that I had saved from several years ago. Turned it into something new!

About Joan Mantini

After several years of being the Facebook page owner at Beginner Sewing, I noticed there was a desperate need to have a single go-to spot for members to be able to find answers to their common questions, get some useful tips & tricks, as well as find reputable places to purchase sewing products online. Taking my role as a trade publication editor by day, and combining it with my knowledge of frequently requested beginner sewing advice, I created www.https://beginner-sewing.com/. An outlet that gives new sewists a free digital magazine geared for entry level sewing as an extra bonus!
